How the System Works

The Diocese of Oakland has partnered with Backpsin to provide a shared technology platform for parish CYO programs.

While the Diocese establishes common registration and clearance requirements, each parish program maintains control over its own operations, including:

The Three Components

Player Registration

Parents register athletes online through their parish program’s registration portal using Diocese-approved forms, waivers, and payment tools.

Coach Registration

Volunteers complete required onboarding and clearance requirements, including role selection, training, and eligibility tracking.

Program Administration

Athletic directors and authorized staff use administrative tools to manage registrations, monitor compliance, organize teams, and communicate with participants.
